Team Manager Glyn Taylor has named his side for the Premier League Fours’ competition at Peterborough on Sunday 14th July. Kauko Nieminen, Lasse Bjerre, Kevin Doolan and Magnus Karlsson will carry the hopes for success along with Alex Edberg as the meeting reserve. Taylor will decide the actual riding order nearer the time.
The Lions have twice just missed out on first place in the final having conceded second best to Ipswich in 2011 and Berwick last year.
“When you have four riders of heat leader quality in every race it is impossible to forecast the result because after all there are no team partners to help one another so basically it is an individual meeting within a team event. No-one wants to let the side down so the pressure to perform is enormous. It is a great day out for fans and we have been so close to winning a major trophy which would mean so much to the club and our loyal fans if we can go one better this year” commented the Lions Team Manager Glyn Taylor.
Leicester have been drawn in Group B alongside Edinburgh, Somerset and Newcastle. The meeting starts at 2.30 pm on Sunday 14th July.
